Today, only 15% of those who claim to be Bible-believing Christians regularly read the Book they claim to believe. 35% never read it at all. The other 50% only read it occasionally. Where do you stand?
Spending time in God's Word, reading his revelation to mankind, is one of the most important essentials in the daily life of a Christian. It is how we get to know God personally and intimately. Just think about this: God the Father, Creator of the Universe, wrote a book to you. He wants to communicate with you on a daily basis!
Moreover, we gain a better understanding of God's purposes and his plan of salvation from beginning to end the more we read the "whole counsel of God" (Acts 20:27). Instead of seeing the Scriptures as a collection of disjointed books, chapters, and verses, through determined, purposeful reading, we realize that the Bible is a unified, cohesive work.
In 2 Timothy 2:15, the Apostle Paul encouraged Timothy to be diligent in studying the Word of God: "Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth." To explain God's Word, we need to know it well.
So "Where do I start?", you may ask. There are many ways to read through in a year. Here are a couple options:

STARTING AT 9AM!!
Grab you gloves, rake, and/or garden hoe, and join us as we start the 3rd season of Isaiah 58 Ministry!!
Please mark your calendar and make plans to join our Fairview Family for a great time of fellowship as our third Isaiah 58 garden planting and growing season begins. We need your families' help to cut and/or plant potatoes.
If you can help us cut potatoes, please plan to bring a knife. We will start cutting at 9 AM, immediately following the Men's Prayer

For those who can help plant, please bring gloves, hoes, potato rakes or other tools that can be used to cover the pototoes. Potato planting will start at 10 AM and continue until the cuttings are all in the ground. Approximately 75 people will be need for planting and
covering the potatoes.
Bring your families, old work clothes, tools and plan to have a morning of fellowship in the garden.
Contact Gregg Pollard with any questions via email to swpollard1954@gmail.com .
(Rain make-up date will be the following Saturday, March 16 at the same cutting and planting times).

The Isaiah 58 Project is based on Isaiah 58:1-12 where God calls His people to look beyond their religious traditions and authentically live out their faith in God. Fairview desires to live out their faith authentically and do what God calls us to do so that in everything we might bring glory to His name. One of the challenges God gave His people in Isaiah 58:7, 10 was to divide their bread with the hungry. We know that there are many people in the Fairview community and greater Triangle area who are in need. Some people are struggling to make ends meet and others have lost everything. Since God gave our church land and a heart to love the people for whom Christ died, He led us to use His land for growing crops. We plan to grow potatoes, beans, squash, tomatoes and cucumbers this Spring. Our goal is to give it all away to families in need. We hope to extend Christ's love to believers and unbelievers so He might be glorified. Fairview is committed to working together as we plant, nurture, harvest and distribute the food. We are committed to use this project to further Christ's kingdom through sharing the Gospel. This project is not about a humanitarian outreach but about obeying the Word of God. The Lord commands us to share our food with the hungry and that is what we intend to do.
On days we are working in the field, everyone is welcome to come (even if you do not attend our church). We will have work days posted on the web and share any information that may change due to weather.
